JSM is a growing local property management company dedicated to working together to provide the highest level of service to our residents. We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team located in Champaign, IL.

This role works closely with the Human Resources Manager to facilitate and complete various human resources functions. The key responsibilities for this position are outlined below.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, scheduling and assisting with interviews, and pre-employment screening
  • Facilitate new employee orientation and work closely with various departments to ensure a smooth integration of new hires
  • Attend job fairs and other recruitment events

HR Policies and Compliance

  • Manage I-9 and E-Verify compliance
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with inquiries from employees regarding policies, procedures, and general HR-related questions
  • Maintain the Employee Handbook with policy updates as needed

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records and HR systems (HRIS, timekeeping, applicant tracking)
  • Generate reports and provide data for HR analytics and reporting purposes
  • Conduct and assist with audits and mandatory reporting (OSHA, I-9 audits, ACA filing, etc.)
  • Support verification of employment requests
  • Support employee separation process and procedures, as assigned

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Assist in coordinating employee engagement activities and initiatives (Quarterly teambuilding, company lunches, special events)
  • Coordinate employee apparel purchasing
  • Assist with the employee performance review process
  • Support benefits enrollment process and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries
  • Provide guidance to employees on benefits-related inquiries

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or another relevant field of study
  • 2 years of professional Human Resources experience and knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws
